I am processing a bunch of motions from a capture session and am finding lot's of instances where a marker will simply disappear for no reason. It is not occluded and well within view of multiple cameras, but for some reason simply stops being tracked.
Showing the rays to the tracking cameras will show 4 or 5 cameras tracking and the next frame none. All the ehile the marker is still in plan sight of the same cameras that were tracking it in the previous frame.
The markers are also well within the capture volume.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Is it possible the trajectorizing is messing up because I would hate to have to re-capture them.
Thanks.

Missing markers for no reason
Re: Missing markers for no reason
Hello,
It would be helpful if you could tell us which version of Arena you used to capture the data, as well as the version you are using to trajectorize it.
Please send us (support@naturalpoint.com) example pt2 and skeleton data which demonstrates the issue, that will make it easier to evaluate whats going on.

Re: Missing markers for no reason
I used a 12 camera setup with 1.3.035 to capture and both that and the new 1.4 to trajectorize with the same results.
That new show volume stuff in 1.4 is awesome by the way!
Where is the best place to send the files?

Glad you like the capture volume preview improvements
Please email the files to support@naturalpoint.com. If they are too large, you can use a file service like yousendit or mediafire.

Re: Missing markers for no reason
(posting some feedback we sent via email)
Even though the markers where inside the capture volume, when the problem occured only a single camera saw the marker. This is because the marker is being hidden by other body parts.
In the upcoming Arena 1.4 Beta we will re-enable 3d point reconstruction with a single ray, which should reduce the problem a little.
