Flight Sim 2004

Post by jbrunner »

Hi - I just fired up the Track IR with my old MS Flight Sim 2004 and it does not seem to work. The game is recognized in the track IR software but device does nothing in game.

Do I need to alter some in game settings or anything? I can't figure it out.

Similar problem in this thread. My two cents: http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=33393
Are the blue and green diodes lighting up?
Good luck, let us know how you progress.

What version of Windows are you using?

What version of the TrackIR software?

Make sure you have the standard language.dll installed with FS2004. Some custom versions of the DLL remove strings required by TrackIR.

Ensure that the notification messages in FS2004 are turned on. The notifications appear in the upper right corner in red when switching to the virtual cockpit. The setting is found in your fs9.cfg file located by default in:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

I too, am having problems. My Track IR Pro V4 is not working with MSFS 2004. It does work with my Falcon 4.0 game, so I know it is installed correctly.

I have the latest Track IR software installed (just got it off your forum tonight). I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. When I go to the virtual cockpit view, it says virtual cockpit in red for a few seconds in the upper right corner. As for the language.dll file, where would that be located? I am at a loss to get this to work with FS9.

OK, I found the language.dll file, in the main FS9 folder. It appears to be the original, as it has a 2003 date. Any other ideas? The green LED is on, but the blue one does not light up, and movement of my head does nothing in this game. Help!

Just to be sure, I copied the language.dll file from the original FS9 disks and put it in my FS9 folder. Track IR still doesn't work with it, and the software is showing that no game is connected.

1 - The red text should always be displayed

2 - Have you tried running both the TrackIR software, and FS2004, as an admin?

I ran both FS2004 and Track IR in just Vista mode, not Windows XP compatibility, and as administrator, and now it works. thanks!
