Track IR 1 (??) help

Post by Stryke »

Hi all,

I got a hold of what I think is Track IR 1, it looks like this only it's grey :

I really want TIR4 but being a student funds are low, and I wanna try this out before I make a commitment.

Anyway, I downloaded and installed software 3.13 from NP website. My pc recognizes the hardware but when I go into the Tracking/Camera View Screen there is nothing there. It's like the camera isn't viewing anything. The green light isn't lighting up at all.

Can anybody help me with some tips or hints here I am stuck?

I am running XP, 2.8 processor, 3 gig of ram if that helps.

Any advice would be appreciated, I have spent hours on google.

Are you connected directly to the PC, or using a hub?

Laptop, or desktop system?

Is the device showing up in the system device manager, under USB devices?

Thanks so much for your reply Vince. I really appreciate it.

I inherited a USB 1 hub with the device, so I have connected through the Hub (with the hub connected to mains power) and also connected the device directly to the PC's USB ports.

The device is also showing up in system device manager. Only once has there been any kind of image shown in the tracking screen, but I cannot for the life of me remember how I got it there.

I am thinking either a) the device is broken or

b) it's something really simple that I am overlooking.

Moving USB ports causes it to redetect on the system?

Access to another system to try it on?
