Phantom right click

Post by rwschnei »

I have a trackIR devise s/n 00xxxx that Ive been using on various desktops under Windows 2000. I recently started using a new desktop with Windows XP Professional version 2002 sp3 on a Dell Core 2 Duo E4600 @ 2.40GHz, 1.95 GB ram. I installed the original smartNav version 2.14 as with my previous desktops.

Everything works, however I periodically get a right click when I didnt right click. If I close the smartNav software and use the mouse manually, the phantom right clicks go away.

I downloaded the latest version of the software (for my unit, v2.20), uninstalled v2.14 and installed v2.20 and have the same problem.

Any advice?

Are you using the dwell software, or input switches?

No, dwell is not turned on. I've tried hovering for an extended period to see if it's related to the dwell function but it doesn't appear to be. By input switches, I assume you mean a foot switch. It came with a foot switch but I havent used it for years. The switch isn't plugged into the trackIR device. I use the windows keys on the keyboard for my clicks (the defaults). The only setting I've changed is moving the pause key from F9 to F10.

What hotkey are you using to do the right click?

have you tried changing it to another key?

I use the default keys LWin (to the left of the space bar) for left click and RWin (to the right of the space bar) for right click. I will change the right click to the insert key on the key pad to see if that makes a difference.

I know its a late answer but i had a issue like this. To fix it I open task manager and rightclick smartNav and set affinity to just one cpu
