Black Shark Track IR crash

Post by ewt »

My Track IR software / driver crashes a lot while playing Black Shark. Ussually it works the first few minutes, sometimes the LED doesn't get blue while starting a second mission but I also got a few crashes wile flying.

If I alt-tab and open Track IR software I see that the heads don't move. When I restart the software everything works again, but I need to reload the mission to get Track IR working in game again...

If the driver / program crashes the yellow led turns orange.

Im using version 4.1.36.

PPlease help, the restarts are pretty annoying...

What version of Windows are you using?

Are you running any antivirus/firewall software?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?

Have you tried a clean install of the TrackIR software?

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location,
