I got my TrackIR online a couple weeks ago. Loaded and performed fine and still does at startup. After a several minutes of use, the system seems to go haywire. The movement will be in all directions very fast, no matter what screen I am on. (I am using it in FSX.) If I bring my head in very close (10 inches) to the device it stops, until I move back out again. I have a TrackClip. The reflectors seem to be registering fine and like I said it all works great for the first few minutes.
Did I get a defective device or is there a setting that I need to tweek?
Help!

Re: Frustrated
Looking at the tracking screen, View -> Tracking, what do you see here?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Re: Frustrated
When I check the Tracking box, only the three dots are showing and they seem to be working fine.
I will try checking the USB ports. I am plugged into a port on the monitor.
Thanks

Re: Frustrated
Try connecting directly to the PC.
