Recently, I have been having LOTS of issues with dinput8.dll. There exists some conflict with my CH USB devices and TrackIR. Upon starting TrackIR I am greeted with a crash and two Dr Watsons, the latter actually reporting a crash of the former. So... TrackIR crashes resulting in a Dr Watson which crashes resulting in another Dr Watson.. Good golly, what a mess.
The fix seems to be to fire up TrackIR at boot and then CHCM (the reverse results in the afformentioned crash^2). I am a looong time user and nothing significant has changed that I can identify except for newer TrackIR and CHCM software of which I think one is the culprit.
I'll be cross posting at the CH forums but maybe someone here has an idea what is causing this.
WinXP SP3
CHCM 4.20 and 4.51 both tried with the same result
Need latest TrackIR 4.1.036 software for DCS Black Shark support so that is really not a roll back option
dinput8.dll

What about a hardware failure?
I just booted up my system and there was alot of dinging (like you hear when you plug in a USB device) and a fair amount of flickering on my TIR lights. All connections have been ...
Doh!
As I type this my TIR is flickering and Windows is dinging.
... as i was saying. All hardware connections have been checked and are secure.
Good grief... now I have a USB 2.0 port mesasge. Something is going hay-wire.
All this while typing a message. I am starting to think hardware failure IS a big possibility.
