Custom Curve Templates

Post by Popi »

I have created two new curve templates, named 1 and 4.5.
Since this my first templates, I did not change the control points, just the speed motion control numbers, 1 an 4.5.

Next, selected the desired curve.

The YAW is set in the "axis block". Neither templates moves
the speed numbers in the basic window or a change in the current curve (yellow line).

Is the motion adjustment blocks supposed to be checked or unchecked, when creating a new curve?

The manual does not give us a detailed step by step action
for this setup. An example would be a great assist.

Hey Popi,

The "Speed" setting is a global value - it applies to all curves in all profiles. So if your speed is set to 4.5, all curves will be scaled up by 4.5. Because it is global, there is only one speed setting at any given time. This setting is saved with the TrackIR application, in the settings.xml file.

In the Profile Curve Editor, the green line represents the curve as you define it, the yellow line represents the resulting curve after the global Speed modifier has been applied to it, and the grey dotted line represents the template that is selected in the template dropdown, allowing you to preview the template before applying it to your curve (once you apply it, you wont see the dotted line since it will be the same for as your curve).

In your situation, you might consider leaving the Speed setting to 1, then customizing your 1 and 4.5 curve templates to their desired shaped by using the control points on the curve. Only use the global speed slider if you wish to "speed up" the behavior of all profiles.

Does this help?

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for the information and the application of the color
lines. I believe I have this sorted out now.
