Internal Failure Error Number 0x80040707
I have a TrackIR4 and and a Track Clip Sensor.
I stopped using it a few months ago and uninstalled the software.
Now I want to use it again but EVERY time i try to install the software, it doesn't matter which version, I get an 'Internal Failure' Error Number 0x80040707 and the installer quits.
This is driving me nuts!!! Why won't the software install???

Some more info for you:
Operating System: Win XP Pro SP3
All drivers are up to date.
TrackIR was working fine before i uninstalled it a few months ago.
Every other installer works fine, i'm only having problems with TrackIR.
I have looked everywhere online and NONE of the proposed solutions i have found help.
TrackIR and Natural Point files have been completely removed from my system.
I don't have a 2nd pc to install the software to (so i can copy the folder across) but if someone could send me their Natural Point folder, that would be very helpful...

Good news ! I managed to correctly installed my Track IR !
Vincent provided me with a partial help (sorry Vincent... anyway it was a good help
!!)
In fact the relevant link was this one !
I followed the procedure and realized that the "startup" folder didn't exist :
[img]E:\bureau\regedit.jpg[/img]
Consequently I created this folder :
[img]E:\bureau\startup%20folder.jpg[/img]
I then tried to install the Track IR again... and it worked !
I don't know if this solution fits with the other situations previously mentionned in this forum, but if it may help...
