Hi, I'm very excited about the TIR5 and the pro clip. I had a few questions though
1) My monitor is a CRT, will the unit sit on that ok? It appears it seems to clamp onto the thinner LCD monitor frames.
2) Can I use the unit in a darkend room? I like to game in the dark with a red light, can I do that with the "5"?
3) My monitor sits on an elevated surface, the top of the monitor is higher than my head. Can I just tilt it down to "look" at me? Perhaps, I could velcro a little shelf on the left side of the monitor at eye level instead?
Thanks!

Re: Just ordered, questions
Hi Dustin,
1) The unit will attach to a CRT fine. The legs can extend to have a three-prong support to sit on a flat surface.
2) The TrackIR should be fine in those conditions.
3) As long as the elevation isn't too severe, you should be fine. The main concern is that the camera isn't at too steep of an angle to see the markers. Within a foot should acceptable in most cases.

Re: Just ordered, questions
Like DustinWright I've just ordered my TrackIR5 with Pro clip form RCSimulations here in the UK.
I have another question to add.
What can interfere with the camera? Mine will be happy sat on top of my monitor looking at me from slightly above head hight. However in its field of view will be two Aquariums, a wall mounted HDTV and a window.
could the light from any of these things be a problem?
I'm really excited about using my TrackIR5 Arma2 is gonna rock!

Re: Just ordered, questions
You should be fine with the TV, and as long as the aquarium doesn't reflect the light directly back at the camera, it shouldn't be a problem either. However, sunlight can definitely be an issue. If the window is in view of the TrackIR camera, it will probably need to be covered during daylight hours. With our Spurious Marker Rejection, TrackIR 5 can filter out a decent amount of small background light, but open windows with sunlight streaming through will still give it fits.
When you're positioning your TrackIR, open up the Camera View in the 5.0 software. Unwanted light will show up in that view, typically as red.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping I'll be okay, The curtains (a shade of cream) are always closed. They are by no means blackout curtains but give the same effect as the ceiling light.
