TrackIR 5.04 beta disabling NVidia AntiAlising on IL2
Hello !
I have windows XP 64bit, i7 965 and a GTX295 videocard.
Everything was fine until i uninstalled the 4.01.036 and installed the 5.04 Beta.
When i come back to game i noticed a chainsaw borders at all IL2 objects ... I think i got a corrupted video driver at 4.01.36 uninstall, then i reinstalled the video driver without sucess.
I try to use the override AA (like i always do) on nvidia panel but no sucess again.
Then i uninstalled trackIr software and everything was beutifull again ...
I liked very much the new program and the ingame movement, but i can not loose Anti Aliasing on the IL2.
I did not try with other games, jus IL2.
Please fix it guys.

Do you have the latest video card drivers installed?
Latest version of Direct X?
Was the TrackIR software minimized, when you were seeing this issue?
Are you running any other software in the background?

Yes, i have all last drivers.
No software at background.
Minimized or not it was causing the bug.
The problem is.
Nvidia driver has a tool to make the AA better than the default game was planned to, it is turned on by selecting " override any application settings ".
I use a 40" inch monitor and using 1920x1080 resolution and i need to override AA to get better image.
When i installed de 5.04 Track IR Soft that feature stoped to work and just come back after uninstalling 5.04.
I uninstalled it and i am waiting for a bug fix.
The IL2 has a particularity, it doesnt get better AA using the
" Enhance application setting " option, just when overriding it.
Why is the software in conflict with Nvidia features ?

- Just Installing/Uninstalling the TIR5 software should not affect the nVidia drivers. We don't copy any shared dlls anywhere, nor do we muck with registry values pertaining to video settings.
- We don't make any opengl extension calls in TIR5. The extent of our antialising is standard gl line antialising, and this just applies to the active context.
Try installing the TIR5 software and then running IL2 without TIR5 running? This would isolate whether just installing the
TIR5 software affects IL2 antialising, or if the TIR5 software needs to be running to affect it.

I did that ...
The TIR5 dont need to be running ...
Just intalling it start the bug.
And the only thing make the nvidia AA work again is uninstalling it.

That just seems odd, as there is nothing within the TrackIR software that effects the video card, when the software isn't running.
Re: TrackIR 5.04 beta disabling NVidia AntiAlising on IL2
I don't know about the GTX-295 but I have a GTX 275 that drove me nuts with crashes and lockups in FSX. It did not matter if TrackIR 5 (beta) was installed or not. I had the latest drivers on the 275 (186.18). I tried several older drivers and had the same problem. I finally wound up going all the way back to 182.50 from the Nvidia web site and that fixed the problem. Again I do not suspect the TrackIR software had anything whatsoever to do with the problem.
In the EVGA forums there has been a lot of critism of the latest drivers for the 260/275/295 series. You might try older drivers.
Never assume the video drivers are perfect is the moral of the story.

The fact is.
4.01.36 no problem ...
5.04 corrupted AA ...
Then ... IT IS THE TRACK IR SOFTWARE !

Re: TrackIR 5.04 beta disabling NVidia AntiAlising on IL2
I am using an Evga GTX295 card with the current driver release and the IR5 beta software doesn't have any affect on the video card settings nor functionality.
Re: TrackIR 5.04 beta disabling NVidia AntiAlising on IL2
CristianoConrado is right. The troublemaker IS THE TRACKIR SOFTWARE ! I spent hours uninstalling reinstalling Nvidiadrivers and trying to find errors in the conf.ini of IL-2. Once I removed the TRACKIR 5 software everything functioned without any problem!. I reinstalled it after installing a new driver and now I can use the AA function again. However, I still have some problems with the TRACKIR 5 as it doesn't memorize to start minimized and it doesn't memorize the device I use ( I have both the standard clip and the clip pro).
The solution at that point is to install first the Nvidia driver and then to install the TrackIR software. Another workout I found on one forum is to create a TrackIR profile for Nvidia but this didn't work for me.
So to repeat IT IS THE TRACK IR SOFTWARE!
