Help: TrackIR Not Working in Flight Simulator X

Hi,

I purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition today, which is the Deluxe Edition + the Acceleration expansion. I'm having some problems getting TrackIR to work....

When I start the game, both green lights on the TrackIR are light-up, and the TrackIR software identifies that I'm running FSX - which is good. However, when I'm in game and in the 3D Cockpit view, I'm not getting any camera movement at all - I can only move the camera with the keys on the num-pad.

Do I need to do something in the settings in-game? What am I missing here?

I've had no problems with ARMA2 or DCS Blackshark, so I know that my TrackIR isn't faulty etc.

I'm using TrackIR Version 5.0.230 (Build 5977), with a TrackClipPro.

... forgot to mention, I'm using Win XP SP2.

Just rebooted and started the game again, looks to be working now. Strange.

... good old reboot.

In my Case, rebooting didn't help when I installed TrackIR_5.0.beta.05.exe. The only light that came on was the left green one. I couldn't get the right green lite on nor would TIR track my head movement in FSX (w/Acceleration). BTW, I'm running Win XP w/SP3

I tried other things, but no luck. So I went back to beta version 04.

I've been very disappointed in the TIR 5.0 software. I've purchased every version of TrackIR hardware/software since the first version came out (TIR-1) years ago, and every version worked fine until version 5.0.

Hello Vincent,

I have the same issue as bingo41. I downloaded the link you suggested here, yet still do not get any movement when in virtual cockpit. I have the trackir 5 - the software works ie: can see the "head" motioning according to my movements. I 1st loaded trackir, then loaded FSX, yet no luck. Assistance appreciated.

Do you have SP1/SP2 installed for FSX?

What version of Windows are you using?

Tried running both applications as and admin (right click on the exe for each, and selecting run as admin)?

What specific build do you have installed?

Which applications do you want me to right click and run as a admin?

Do you want me to check SP1/SP2 (uninstall then reinstall - this time right clicking as admin??) or uninstalling the 0504 link you provided above, only this time right clicking as admin, and installing this way?

In regards to "build" Q, could you tell me where to click and determine?
