TrackIR fix or upgrade

I purchased TrackIR3 several years ago to use with my flight sims. Kept having problems with it constantly wandering from the center point of view. After just a short time after recentering it, it would start wandering--it was particularly distracting while trying to concentrate on instrument approaches. Finally just stopped using it. Do the later versions 4 and 5 fix this problem (the 6 point thing, or whatever), and can I upgrade what I have without having to buy a completely new version? The TIR3 I have now came with the 3.11 software disc.

1 - You can try using the 4.1.xx version of the software.

2 - Do you have the vector expansion, for the TrackIR 3, or are you using sigle dot tracking?

I have the original unit which uses the single reflective dot tracking.

The Vector expansion can help with tracking accuracy, as it will be using three IR objects to track your head in a 3d enviroment, instead of the single dot for tracking.
