TiR4pro DOA after power outage
I was on my PC getting ready to play when I inadvertently uh, toed the power switch on my surge-protector/power strip. This of course shut down everything tower monitor etc.. After reboot the track Ir was just dead no light nothing seemed to work, unplugging and reinserting gave no Da dunk sound while other devices did, when re-inserting windows says unknown device found, device drivers found installed ready to use etc.. but still no lights and software says: no device detected. Have tried everything in the troubleshooting guide all the way from uninstalling unknown device from USB in Device manager to to rebooting 2-3 times removing software and restoring back a month etc.. etc.
I had a TrackIr3 without vector for a very long time, years in fact never a problem, bought it new. This one was given to me virtually brand new by a friend who bought a 5 and I payed it forward and gave my 3 to a buddy, he couldn't afford one and I can't afford to replace this one now either. I'm afraid it might be a goner as I cant get it to even light up. What can I do can it be repaired for a nominal fee if it's something stupid and simple like a bad cable or something? Like most virtual pilots (I fly IL-2) I just can't fly without it, please help, what info do you need and or where can I mail it if need be.

I guess after reading the other posts here I should mention I'm using the Beta 5 software, WindowsXP Pro and I even tried the NPR Exe

Re: TiR4pro DOA after power outage
I appreciate the answer and i just purchased a New T4 from the NP store, Thank You, but I just can't understand and neither can my other wingmates, how shutting off the power to the PC killed it so thoroughly as to not even get a flicker of a LED out of it. It seems actually that it was only 14 months old and I myself only had it for one and a half, My T3 was well much older and had several such instances of power shutdowns and such never had a problem with it even once. I sure hope it never happens again.
Re: TiR4pro DOA after power outage
Well, a sudden lose of power can cause a power surge, or brown out condition across the USB orts, which can cause the device's firmware to become corrupted, or the hardware to short out.
Re: TiR4pro DOA after power outage
Well thank you for the answer, can't wait to get my new one it's like losing a thumb I can't live/fly without it; the hatswitch/mouse method is just soo Fred Flinstone.
