Games aren't being detected

Post by Mistraval »

I've been browsing the web including this forum for hours now for a solution to this problem, but I just can't find it. I purchased the TrackIR 4 Pro just the other day, and installed the latest Version 5.0 - Final on my Windows 7 RTM computer. Everything in the actual program itself is working great (the tracking etc), but it's not working with any of my applications. I tried using it with Flight Simulator X Acc, and with Ship Simulator 8.

I haven't tried using the 4.1.037 software, and I honestly don't plan on it. For a product that cost me over $100, I think the latest version of the software should actually work...

I am experiencing the same.
I have TIR4 and running v5.0final under Vista x64. Neither ArmA2 (both retail and internal dev-build) nor DCS Ka50 are detected (no blue led). I never tried v5.0 beta5 but beta4 worked fine.

Update: none of my TIR-enhanced games are detected; ArmA, ArmA 2, MS FS-X, LOMAC:FC, DCS Ka50 and DIRT.

The new TrackIR 5.0 Final does not fix the game detection issue, I have to revert back to TrackIR 5.0 Beta 04 to use it.

I don't understand why naturalpoint would release a version of their software as "final" if it doesn't even work properly! There must be a way to get it to work without downgrading.

I made the mistake of installing 5.0 final. Once I did, it uninstalled Beta 04 and then froze during its installation. Then, nothing else would install including the previous software version, so I installed it on another computer and copied the folder onto my Vista 64 machine, only to discover that Final doesn't detect my games. I'm now heading upstairs to uninstall 5.0 and reinstall beta and then hopefully this nightmare will be over. I'm still unable to get the installers to work on my Vista 64 machine now that this 5.0 version completely corrupted something on my machine. This final release is buggier than any version of the betas.

Tried to rollback Beta 4. Can't install it normally. Copied the files on my Vista 64 drive. TrackIR doesn't detect squat. I'm screwed until customer support contacts me and tells me how to get this installation to go through on a 64-bit machine.

Try using system restore to restore your system prior to the install of the the version 5 final.

I managed to get this working by install the 5.0 beta 5b. But to be completely honest, this using older software story is garbage. I'm extremely disappointed.

Thx for the update.
I installed the final version and without even thinking to test it first, I went online.

While I was trying to figure out what is actually wrongl, look what that mean Fokker did to me:
