tracking stops when certain applications have focus

Hello, I am using the Smartnav 4 on Windows Vista 32. it has worked excellently for me over the last few months, until I have started working with a new application on my PC. I'm attempting to use native instruments kontakt 1.5 to do music production, but whenever that application has focus mouse tracking will stop working. If I switch to another application only by pressing alt-tab in Windows, tracking will be restored. But as soon as I switch back to the national instruments application tracking dies again. the green LED stays on constantly throughout the whole process.

Any ideas on what I can do for this? I assume they are trying to access the mouse in an unusual way that is blocking the smartnav application.

You can test this without having to purchase anything by downloading the native instruments service center tool, which re-creates the same problem:

It could also be accessing the system as an admin, try running both applications as an admin (right click on the exe for each, and select run as admin).

Is the application running in full screen, or window mode?
