100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track ir
when i start xp 64 bit and load up track ir software the whole computer hangs, track ir is using all the cpu power.
It worked fine before but now it just hogs , the cpu. Tried reinstalling software same issue.
It works fine still when i boot into my windows 7 partition.
Any suggestions on how to fix, this ? also i havent done any changes to xp with new installs of software it just refuses to play nice grrrrr

Looking at the TrackIR 5 folder/profiles, what files do you have listed here?
What are the file sizes?
Any other applications also running by the clock on the taskbar?

arma test.xml
default.xml
on2one.xml
smooth.xml
they area are all 6 kb excpt default profile
thats at 5 kb
only steam and nvidia are running in taskbar , shut them down without any difference.
tried again today and , i notice that i can use track ir fine as long as the program is minimized to taskbar. when i restore it to normal size where i can see the head display set different settings calibrate it it shoots up to 100% cpu

Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track ir
Yes, before you run the gaming application, you do need to minimize the TrackIR software, which disables the 3d OpenGL view, within the TrackIR software.
Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track ir
yeah i know i need to minimize it before i run a game to reduce cpu. the issue is still 100% cpu utilization when i start track ir , unable to configure any settings , well i could but it would take ages due to the computer going into almost a full stop. Before it was working fine with peaks maybe uot to 28% as it stands now i cant configure settings at all
Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track ir
So with just the TrackIR software, running un the desktop, the system basically locks.
No other applications running by the clock on the task bar?
What video card/drivers do you have installed?

Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track ir
well basicly locks can still do things but its hangs stutters due to using almost 100% cpu. No other programs in the taskbar.
driver version in devcie manager states 6.14.11.9038
and i havent changed them since or before the bug with track ir software started.

Can you try using a slightly older version of the Video card drivers?
Do you have the Nvidia software running as well?

Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track
Excusing.
I have this problem with MB Asus P5NT WS.
After plug TrackIr 5, system report: This device may be run faster in USB 2.0 port.
My MB has only 2.0 USB. I try plug in another USB port & no effect.
After start software CPU utilization up 50% (CPU Core 2 Duo E8400).
I upgrade my MB and CPU and stay all OK.
(Sorry for English).

Re: 100% cpu utilization in windows xp 64bit with track
The USB 2.0 error, is a false reading by the chipset drivers, and should just be ignored.
Does the CPU utilization decrease, when the software is minimized?
What OS are you using?
Running any other applications, in the background?
