Trackir 5 settings Please Help
Trackir 5 settings Please Help
Good morning. First I want to Thank all of you here that have Helped me with all my Question's and for the Profiles that were sent to me for my Trackir 5. from all of you. That was so very Kind of all of you. I have a few more Questions that maybe someone could Please Help me with. On my Trackir-5 does it have Vector tracking? or just Dot tracking mode? With Trackir-5 is there a way that I can use the view settings that I have saved with F10 in Aces High for the different planes with my Trackir-5? What I am trying to do is, I would like if it is possible in my Trackir 5 to move the gun sight up just a little or maybe the seat of the plane up a little in my Trackir 5? I have tried Page up and Page down while I have my Trackir 5 on and that does not work. I Thank All of you for any Help you can give me with this. Have a Great Weekend and a Great 2010. toby

Re: Trackir 5 settings Please Help
The tracking mode is determined by the software you use, not the version of the hardware. The TrackIR 5.x software (the most current, and what we recommend using) only supports Vector, because dot tracking is older technology, and inferior in gaming applications. Dot tracking only enables 2 DOF tracking, as opposed to the full 6 DOF you can achieve when you track a Vector. If you use either the included TrackClip or TrackClip PRO upgrade accessory with your TrackIR 5, you will get Vector tracking by default.
If you have saved settings within the TrackIR software itself (as a profile), you can assign that profile to any game that TrackIR supports. So, whatever profile you have assigned to Aces High, just link to whichever other games you want to use it on in the Titles tab. However, if you adjust settings within the game itself (like in a config file, for instance), I'm going to assume that's not something you can copy to other games. Though, anything outside of the TrackIR software is outside of our purview, and you'd need to take those questions directly to the game developer. If you want to adjust how TrackIR is implemented in the game, you will also need to address that to the game devs. All that we do is tell the game where your head is, and where it's looking. What the game does with that information is up to the developers.
Hope this helps!
