Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?

The Track Clip Pro. Sorry for not being more clear.
edit: although when I use the Track Clip, I see the same kind of stutter and jerky movements in the TIR software.

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Is the camera moved to the left side of the screen, to align with the TCP?
Are the 3 green points centered?
What happens if you use the standard TrackClip?

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Ok, to sum up my situation :
With the Track Clip Pro :
-Software v4 : Camera on the left of my screen, 3 points spotted and centered, I get stutters in the software and in game.
-Software v5 : Camera on the left of my screen, 3 poins spotted and centered, Same stutters.
In both cases, it feels like the camera is losing and re-acquiring the signal constantly. Yet (in the software) the 3 dots still appear without (apparent) interruption. The only visible effect are the stutters when I turn my head.
With the regular track clip (I just tested this):
-v4 : Camera centered, 3 "points" spotted. No stutters or loss of signal, neither in the software or in game.
-v5 : Camera centered on the screen, all points spotted and centered. Stutters in software and in game (although slightly less noticeable than with the Track Clip Pro).
So right now, the only reliably fuctionning setup is the regular Track Clip with the version 4 of the software. (Because, like others before me have noted, some days there are no stutters, for no visible reason).
edit : I also have Windows XP on the same computer (other hard drive), I will try to install both versions of the track IR software tomorrow, and see if it makes a difference. That might help narrow down the problem.

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
And now I just tested the software with Windows XP (32bits) : I installed the version 5 (the final one, downloaded from the website a minute before), and using the track clip pro, the movement is perfectly smooth : no stutters or loss of signal of any kind.
(Additional test : in Win7x64, I tried using a non-Aero theme, and I tried to run a game with V-Sync desactivated, still the same stutters in software and in game)
edit : Correction to the post above : I just tested again, and I still get stutters using the standard track clip and the software version 4. I was mistaken yesterday. It was either a fluke, or I was getting, sleepy, I don't know...
In any case : I have stutters in game, regardless of the version of the software or piece of equipement I use.

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Sorry to post three times in a row, this is the last one (I figure, the more information you have, the better) :
I decided to install Rise of Flight on my XP(32 bits) hard drive, and as expected everything works smoothly. With the same hardware, same drivers, same programs running in the background (mouse drivers, antivirus software and ati control center), same game options and same conditions of use (distance from the screen, light, etc.) : in XP it's all smooth, and in Windows 7 I get stutters, no matter what I try.
In this equation, the only variable is the OS (and, for the record my 2 OS are completely independent, so no interference from one OS to the other, nothing fishy going on).
Hope to see a fix soon.

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Very odd, as I can't seem to reproduce the issue in Win 7.
What video card/video card drivers are you using?

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Ati Radeon HD 4890 1Go with the 9.12, and then the 10.1 drivers, when they came out (the upgrade didn't change the problem).
And in case it might help :
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R
CPU : Intel Core i5 750
Ram : 2x2 Go DDR3 (Kingston)
and the hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 Sata 1To

Re: Track IR 5 stuttering and laggy movement
Maybe the Active Camera add on is the cause of the sttutering problem, yesterday I've noticed when my aircraft is on the ground quiet the Track IR works perfectly. But for some reason when the aircraft start to move the sttutering begins. I thing that AC is the problem because when I desabled the head latency sttutering decrease significantly, I unistalled the AC and will try again tonight, maybe the sttutering will desapear completely.
