After I have my TrackIR 4 Pro plugged in and I'm using the software to calibrate it and such or play a game, the camera unit gets quite hot. Not hot enough to hurt or anything, but still pretty hot for a small plastic device? I live in the Adirondacks, so theres no crazy climate. I just want to know if this is normal.
Thanks!

Re: Hot TrackIR
TrackIR does quite a bit of processing on-board, which lessens the load on your CPU and prevents TrackIR from negatively impacting performance. But, this processing does generate a bit more heat than some people expect. It's perfectly normal for the device, and does not effect its durability, so you don't have anything to worry about.

Re: Hot TrackIR
Great, thank you Seth! It is quite an amazing piece of technology. One more question.
Sometimes after I have closed the program and shut the camera off(occasionally blinking a blue light at me), I will go to turn it back on after a while(or right after I shut it off) and the program starts, but the camera does not(no IR lights, still blue blinking). Not a problem as I can just close the program and start it again and it comes to life, just curious if it's an issue of my rig.

Re: Hot TrackIR
Could be that the USB port was powered down, to begin with so the device wasn't properly being detected by the software.
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
