Advice for someone who has inconsistent posture?

Post by jpinard »

ASince I've got bad lungs and my underside is thin, I'm always sitting in my desk chair differently. I have to move and re-position myself often to keep from having pain and breathing issues.

I tried TrackIR for the first time last night, and I'm sad because I'm not sure it's going to work since I have no consistency and hitting F12 every 10 seconds is a bit of an immersion killer. Can some of you offer some advice in how I can be comfortable yet get more consistent accuracy?

Hi JP, sorry for the delayed response. We were all home for the weekend when you posted initially.

If you're regularly changing position, there's really nothing you can do, except reset the center position with a quick F12. Tracking your head movement is the very nature of what TrackIR is designed to do, so if you're significantly changing position, it's going to pick it up.

If you are using a joystick with your gaming application then you could also remap the re-centering feature to a joystick buttons.

Thanks, that's a good idea with the joystick. I'd already mapped F12 to my mouse thumb button.
