Battleground Europe: WWII Online

Hello, I just received my new TrackIR in the mail today so thank you for that.

I installed the unit as instructed and tried it out with FSX immediately and it worked great.

Later in the day I tried it out with Battleground Europe:WWII Online with no results. It is not working. I have gone to their website to search for answers and I did go to the "Views" in the Keymapper tab to try to map TrackIR head movements to the mouse x and y axis, but to no avail.

And I made sure TrackIR 5.0 was on and working prior to opening up BattleGround Europe.

Any Ideas why that game is not responding to the TrackIR like Flight Simulator X did?

What OS are you using?

If Windows 7 -

Have you tried running both the TrackIR software, and the gaming application as an admin (right click on the exe file for each, and select run as admin)?

I don't see any tips or tricks from the link you provided, but I have tried all the tips and tricks from their forums regarding TrackIR.

I am currently running Windows XP.

Yes I am running both the TrackIR and gaming application as an administrator.

1. How to setup TrackIR functionality inside this game.

Start TrackIR software, then start WWIIOL. (If you're using an old version of the TrackIR software, make sure it is in enhanced mode. this is automatic for the latest software).
After WWIIOL has started, click "Keymapper" in the left column.
Change the "Category" pull down menu from "GENERAL" to "VIEWS".


Scroll down the function list, until you find "Mouse Look X" and "Mouse Look Y" (near bottom).
Click the "Primary/Axis" column, next to the function you wish to define. It should turn yellow yellow. (Do not try to assign TrackIR to the Secondary/Keyboard Axis)
At this point move your head from side to side and TrackIR will be recognized. This will make an entry in Blue, which reads "Track IR X" (or "Track IR Y" if you move your head up and down)


Change the "Category" pull down menu from "VIEWS" to "TROOP".
Repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 (above) for this category.
You should now have TrackIR in Enhanced Mode in both the foot soldier mode and the various aircraft and vehicle modes.


When playing as a foot soldier you have to initially press "N" to activate TrackIR.

I did everything there that the website says to do to no avail. It still doesn't work.

I made sure I am running both games as the administrator.

I made sure I have TrackIR 5.0 Final B running before WWII Online.

Nothing seems to work.

Perhaps I need to install an older version of TrackIR? Like
Version 4.1.037 - Final B?

I'm going to try that and see what happens.

Nope. That didn't work either.

What version of Batleground are you using?

I was using the older version 1.30, but they just released their newest version 1.31 on Sunday, which I am currently using.

My TrackIR doesn't work with the latest version either.

I've read everything about TrackIR and Battleground Europe: WWII Online and nothing seems to work for me.

Does the blue LEd come on, when running the gaming application?

No. The blue LED does not come on when running the game. It does come on for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, however.
