Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
Hi All
Is there any way of diagnosing if this is a simconnect issue and fixing.
At this stage I do not want to have to reinstall FSX to solve this issue, there must be an easier way.I have finally got FSX running with good frame rates, autogen etc. and do not want to upset the apple cart there.I do not recall installing any other program that may have changed my settings for TrackIR.Is there a list of programs which can affect TrackIR settings for FSX.
Thanks
Glenn

Do you have SP/SP2 installed for FSX?
Any firewall/antivirus software installed?

Re: Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
Hi Vincent thanks for your reply.
I have FSX with SP2 installed.
I am running Avast antivirus software ,Ihave tried with this disabled and still same problem.
Also turning my firewall off makes no difference to TrackIR5 running in FSX.
Just to add more info my TrackIR5 does run in FS9.
Thanks Again

Re: Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
I've run into a similar issue. I keep my games on a separate drive from my os. If I have to reinstall my os, trackir will no longer work with FSX until I reinstall it from scratch. Games like IL2 can be reused over and over, just not fsx. Seems to be the only game that trackir only sees it if it has registry entries. Rather annoying, but there doesn't seem to be a work around.

What version of Windows are you using?

Hi Vincent
Do you have any suggestions for me regarding FSX start not being recognised by TrackIR5 ?
How does TrackIR5 interact with FSX ,simconnect only? Can FSUIPC be configured to use TrackIR5 with FSX ?
Regards

It is done directly thru SimConnect.

Re: Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
Hi Vincent
I am running XP Home SP3.
TrackIR5 detects IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and FS9 starting OK but not FSX.
I have disconnected and reinstalled the usb connector while installing current and earlier versions of the software ,but to no avail no FSX detected.
Very frustrating since I have tweaked and coerced my FSX (with SP's installed) to a state where it is smooth and stutter free and do not want to interfere with that installation. Can simconnect be repaired if that is the possible problem without upsetting the rest of my FSX install.I am also running REX2 with FSX, and scenery design programs seem to connect Ok to FSX so if they are using simconnect I am at a loss.
Also I do notice TrackIR5 seems to lose the plot sometimes after approx.20 minutes of a mission in IL2 so I have to revert to mouse control for panning ?
Thanks for any help

Re: Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
The only way to repair a simconnect install (within XP), is to delete the simconnect folders, and do a repair install for FSX

Re: Fsx not recognising TrackIR5
Hi
I had the same problem after a re-install of FSX - I found that IL2 would work ok but FSX was inoperative.
As a workaround I replaced the simconnect manifest file in the TrackIr folder with the simconnect manifest file (1.02KB) found in the SXS folder on disk one of FSX Deluxe edition.
I Hope this helps.
