Hi folks,
I am brand new to TrackIR, I have TrackIR5 Pro. Sometimes when I start the camera it switches on and off continously. That is, the left side led flashes constantly. The in game view is all over the place, ie the screen is constantly juggling about from one view to another.
I have tried simply shutting down and restarting the camera. I have also uninstalled the software, downloaded again and reinstalled. All to no avail. This is in IL2. I have not made any adjustments to the default install. Any hints and tips?
Regards...Kenny

Re: Switching on and off
When looking at the TrackIR software, what do you see in the camera view?
Anything other than the 3 tracking points, any red/gray?

Hi Vincent.
Sorry for the delay in getting back.Real world things got in the way!! Yes, There is an irregular shaped area of red with what I assume are the 3 green tracking points which flash constantly. However, this seems to be an intermittant fault, because in response to another post I moved the camera across more into the middle of my monitor and elevated my seating position. The unit worked fine but now as I am typing this the unit has gone back to a flashing left side LED. This is with FSX and XP Pro sp3.

Re: Switching on and off
I'm having a very similar, if not exactly the same, problem. On the first day I had this (yesterday), everything worked perfectly. Whether I'm in-game (ArmA2) or out of game as of today, the Camera Tracking Status light keeps blinking on and off, and the light on the device itself keeps blinking on and off randomly.
When in the TrackIR 5.0 software, the view is flying all over the place, turning and rolling, and completely uncontrollable.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, disconnected and reconnected, restarted the computer multiple times, and changed the camera angle multiple times. The multitude of attempts at fixing this on my end is has failed miserably, and the program is nigh-unusuable at this point.
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium, game is ArmA2 (although in and out of game the problem is excessively prolific).
Thank you in advance.

Re: Switching on and off
KennyG,
Taking a look at my own Camera View, I observed that there are three main points which the camera view should be picking up... and if they're being actively tracked they should be green.
However, if you're seeing additional red or grey points around, it appears that TrackIR might be picking up additional things behind you as it was mine. In my case, my blinds were not completely closed, so it was picking up only-who-knows behind me and thus preventing proper tracking. While I don't know if my problem is completely fixed (I *just* figured this one out), I know that it appears to have taken care of it. (Hopefully upon submission of this, it won't return to the original problem
