A week ago I acquired the new track version 5.
I installed the latest software.
But this does not work well. For I can not set or adjust the "profiles" if the graphics do not see anything. Just a white background. Neither head nor graphic etc ....
The hardware works, I tested arma2 and rfactor, but the software is untouchable.
What is my problem?
my computer:
quad 3000ghz
ram 8gb
nvidia x260
windows vista 64bits
help me software fail
Re: help me software fail
Hi There.
You are not alone. This must be the worst piece of kit I have bought for my sim. It constantly switches itself off and on. The onscreen display jumps about all over the place. The sim is unflyable when this unit is 'on'. I have tried downloading a different profile for it having tried all the inbuilt options. I have tried moving the sensors and /or camera, I have tried drawing down my room window blind to cut out any light falling on the sensor.
I can only conclude that it is conflicting with my pc in some way. Other people say that it works straight out the box but certainly not for me. This is the second one I have tried, having already returned one for the same reasons.
I feel that I will return this one also unless Vincent can come up with something. Sorry to be so negative but it is just not doing what it is supposed to. It is fine when it stays on for a short time but then it switches off and on intermittently and it becomes useless.
Regards...Kenny

Do you see this issue, with the 4.1.037 TrackIR software?

Are you connected directly to the PC, or are you using ahub?
In the TrackIR software, within the camera view, do you see more than three green objects, any gray/red?
Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackCLip Pro?
Do you have TrackClip, or TrackCLip Pro selected in the software?

direstly
In the TrackIR software, within the camera view, do you see more than three green objects, any gray/red?
Switch to 3D view or a view camera does not alter the result.
status buttons work. but in the quadrant where the head should see only see the white and sometimes black.
Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackCLip Pro?
TrackClip
Do you have TrackClip, or TrackCLip Pro selected in the software?
yes, TrackClip
I reinstalled the graphic drivers and software trace.
I have also found that the opengl is working properly.

Re: help me software fail
Hey Guys.
Up to this point in time Track IR 5 with the Tracklip pro bundle has been nothing but hassle for me. It switched off and on constantly, the on screen display would roll an tumble like crazy. In the software the wire frame heads would also roll around all over the place and all I seemed to see was a ball shaped wire grid rolling around. All the while that danged little yellow LED wouls flash away at me constantly. Not what I wanted from an expensive piece of kit.
However, I seem to have tamed the beast!! After reading through several posts I have made some basic alterations to my setup.
I have darkened my room by rolling down the window blind. The window was directly behind my seat and monitor.
I have moved the camer unit back and forth along the top of the monitor to locate the best position and also adjusted my seat height for better line of sight between the led's and the camera unit.
However, the thing that seems to have made the whole thing work is splitting the usb connectors. I now have the Track Clip Pro usb and the Camera unit usb going into seperate usb ports in my pc. I am asssuming that this is a peculiarity of my mobo.
Now the whole gizmo works like I assumed it should.
Vincent and Track IR support people, please accept my sincere apologies for my previous rant. I hereby retract what I said about the kit being useless. Put this down to frustration on my part as I had watched the videos on U Tube and read good reports elsewhere. I was annoyed that the unit was acting up and would not do what it was supposed to. Now that it is working for me I can only say how good it really is and I am enjoying my sims a whole lot better.

So you aren't seeing anything on the right hand side of the TrackIR 5 software?
What screen resolution are you using?
Have you tried using the 4.1.037 TrackIR software?

What happens if you adjust the screen resolution down?
