Track and Hat/Game views

I thought for sure when I first bought it the trackir worked in tandem with my in game views, mapped to my Hat-1 on my X52. For instance when I look left rear I was able to also adjust in 3d space to get an even better look at the view.

Well I broke out the trackir-5 again and now all I can do is move in and out when also using hat views. Without using hat views all 3d axis's work fine. Its probably an easy step Im missing but i cant seem to figure it out.
