I just got my track IR 5 and pro clip, after installing I started up the software and everything seemed to be working fine, I played a bit with the smoothing and speed and then I closed the window but then realized I needed it open to actually use it while in game, I turned on the software again and it keeps spinning all over the place in 3d mode, when I go to camera view its just a big red blob and red crap everywhere. When I had been fine tuning the speed and smoothing adjustments I had been able to clearly see 3 green dots and nothing else, Ive reinstalled the software and moved the camera and the headset around and I've turned off every light messed with everything.

I didn't do anything besides reload the softare and move my keyboard so I could fit my jotstick and now it can't get it to properly track at all. The best I could do after all my fiddling was to get 3 reallllllly wide dots to show up in camera mode but it wasn't able to actually do any tracking.

WTF did I do wrong? I've been looking through troubleshooting info but I was really hoping to get some sim time in tonight.

How did you fix this, mine does the same thing! If I uninstall/reinstall the software it is fine the first time I launch the trackir software. If I close the trackir software and then reopen it I get the same results, it spins out of control and its a big red blob.

If I reboot my machine it is fine again until i close it out and relaunch it. I guess I could always just set it to launch with windows and never shut the software down, but it bugs you when it doesn't work correctly ya know!

Khadgar might not look at this thread since he resolved his issue, so if anyone else knows the solution please let me know!

Can you see if the extra IR is coming from behind you?

It looks like it might be but I don't have a light on behind me and the fact that it works fine the first time I launch the trackir software is weird.... It only starts picking up the background or after I shutdown the software and relaunch it.

Well...I feel like an idiot...

Turns out it was the mirror on the wall behind me...dur

I spoke to soon...it has started doing it again.

I thought the mirror was causing it, but I was wrong.

For some reason I was able to shutdown the trackir software about 3-4 times just testing it out and it was fine.

Played some DCS A-10 and when I was done I shutdown the trackir software/camera and decided to test it one last time and it did it again.

Hahahahaha didn't think I'd be chiming in here again but while I was looking for some driver updates I came across the recall post and as soon as I saw that screenshot I recognized it as the problem I was having. I don't know why but it went away after trying for a few hours and hasn't returned but I haven't gotten much use out of the unit since then anyway since I've been busy. I checked and my serial# is listed as being affected so that must have been what was causing me absolute HELL when I first got it.
