TrackIR has encountered a Problem and needs to close ..

Hi all

I've just bought TrackIR 4 Pro. No CD was included, just a note saying "to provide customers with the most up to date software, download the latest installer from www.trackir.com/download. Which I did, version being TrackIR_5.0.Final.b

As per the manual I first ran the software, then connected the hardware. Rebooted, then clicked on the TrackIR desktop icon and this message popped up
"TrackIR 5.0 has encountered a problema nd needs to close. We are sorry...."

I clicked on the error report, which shows the following:
AppName: trackir5.exe AppVer: 5.0.0.300
ModName: atioglxx.dll ModVer: 6.14.10.10151
Offset: 0027739c

I'm afraid that's all gobbledegook to me. hope it means something to you guys.

Here's some extra information.

I tried right clicking on the desktop icon and clicked on "run as > current user". That launched the programme, but a little Track 5.0 box pops up, saying there is an "error creating DX device, and when I click Ok it shuts the programme down.

aI also noticed after doing that on the IR I have four red lights and at the top a yellow light.

What version of Windows are you using?

What video card/video card drivers do you have installed?

Have you tried using the 4.1.037 TrackIR software?

I'm running XP Home edition, SP3. Have the ATI HD 4850 vid card. I haven't tried 4.1.037, but will if you think thats the go.

Uninstalled v5 and installed v4.1.037. Seems to be running ok. I'll have ago at setting it up and calibrating it. Thanks.
