Price policy in Europe

Post by Nardo »

In US the price of TrackIR4 on your website is 99$ which when converted is 71.5869 EUR

But they are sold here in Germany at EUR 122,48 = 168.843 USD which is nearly 2 times expensive and more than TrackIR5.
Also the Track clip pro.

If the pricing policy is set correct I guess more users will buy the stuff and refrain from DIY.

Hi Nardo,

Our dealers set their own pricing, so concerns should directed to them specifically. However, keep in mind that pricing in Germany includes both shipping from NaturalPoint to the German reseller, as well as any import fees or taxes that apply. Germany has higher import taxes than many other countries we sell to, so a good portion of the total amount can be attributed to this.

It seems like "we dont care for rest of the world" attitude, We just care for American market. Telling the customer to get out....

I am dissapointed because this comes not from support person but a Marketing manager.

"Germany has higher import taxes". So I guess Marketing department should correct the pricing to increase the sales ???

I guess this also comes because there is no competition from other vendors.

Nardo,

This is much more of a "we give our resellers the freedom to evaluate their own markets" philosophy. If we only cared about the American market, we wouldn't bother to create and maintain a global distribution network. Our overseas markets are tremendously important to us--accordingly, so are the dealers that serve them. We respect their domain expertise on their own local markets.

It's worth noting that NaturalPoint derives no extra income from higher overseas prices. We don't adjust our internal dealer pricing for the German market, or any other European market.

Additionally, you're always welcome to purchase directly from our website, though you will need to cover international shipping and import tax. Incidentally, those are the same expenses that our dealers encounter when purchasing from us (which accounts for a good portion of the higher cost).
