Installed but doesn't track

Post by parkhurstl »

Hi. We have a SmartNav3 and I installed the lastest drivers from the web site for it. The install was fine. When I plug in the device I get the typical USB bleep indicating that the computer recognizes that a usb device is plugged in. The Smart Nav shows up in Device manager, but there is no green LED on device and it does not track at all. I've tried both the small and large silver dots. I've tried different lighting in the room and different distances and angles. The mouse pointer on screen just doesn't move. We are using Windows XP SP3. I made sure all USB HUBs in device manager are not set to power save. Any other ideas?

Connected directly to the PC, or using a hub of any kind?

What version of Windows are you using?

The device is listed under USB, or NaturalPOint, in the device manager?

It is connected directly to the pc. It's Windows XP pro SP3. The devices is listed as Natualpoint Smartnav in the device manager.

Do you have access to another PC you can try the device on?

Unfortunately it sounds like the device has a hardware failure, if the issue follows the camera.
