Dear forum,
I'm working with a 18cams Optitrak system (V1.6.3). I've problems to start all cameras at the first time. Often, I need to restart the system 3 or more time to get all cameras running. USB connections and power support is checked and found to be running. Does anybody has experience with this problem? Are there any solutions available?
Thanks for your support

What cameras do you have R1 or R2? are you using optihubs or standard powered usb hubs?
What is the configuration of the system you are using?
On your system, what is the configuration of the USB ports you are using? (you need to make sure you are connecting to different controllers, typically connect one set of cameras to front USB, another to back USB) In your case, sometimes it is a good idea to purchase an additional usb2 card to connect the third set of cameras, so that all are on separate controllers.
When you say you are having problems starting up the cameras, what exactly do you mean? Do they all start up but with repeating numbers? do not all light up?
need more details
thanks!

Re: Problems to boot all cameras
Hey Brain,
I'm using 18 r2 cameras connected by 3 optihubs. All cameras are 11/7 distributed to both generic hubs. The problem appears when I start the system. In 80% of all cases only 8 to 12 cameras appear in the "Camera select" window. After one or two restarts I get them usually all.
Would you say the problems could be related to the low number generic USB hubs (2)?
Thanhs

It could be, it is probably the cheapest way to find out (USB 2 cards are really cheap nowadays) What OS are you using? are you plugging them in always in the same ports? (sometimes, in Vista and 7, if you plugin your hubs into different ports or when you change things, it goes back and re-installs all the cameras, so it takes a little bit of time)

Re: Problems to boot all cameras
What are your computer specs.?
How many enhanced host controllers are listed in the system device manager?
Are you using the standard A-B USB cable we ship to connect the hub to the PC, and maybe the active extension cables we ship with the hardware system?
Does it seem to isolate itself to one particular set of cameras and/or hub?
You may want to consider updating to Arena 1.7 to see if that helps resolve the issue.

Re: Problems to boot all cameras
I upgraded both, Arena and TT. Now it is working except for one camera. It doesn't start at all. I used original NP wires.
I know from the Vicon system that cameras' firmware can be upgrated individually. Is this also possible for OptiTrack cameras?
Thanks

Re: Problems to boot all cameras
No we do not have firmware upgradable cameras.
If you move the camera around, within the setup, does the issue follow the camera?
