Software Setup

I recievd TrackIR 5 today and since there wasn't a software CD, only a Software Download Instruction card I downloaded the software. I don't mind downloading it because it means I get the latest version. However, after downloading TrackIR_5.0.Final.b.exe and running it I get the error message "The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again." I and using Windows 7 64-bit but also tried it on my laptop which uses Windows Vista 32-bit and the same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

It sounds like the download was corrupted. Have you tried re-downloading?

I downloaded it many times and each time it said the same thing. I googled the file name and found it on another web site and it worked. I tried it in rise of flight and Microsoft FSX and it worked.

Hmmm, strange that the download kept corrupting from our server. It's working fine for me. At least you found it elsewhere and were able to get it up and running. Enjoy!
