We purchased a 2 yr old arena system that has 7 cameras. We're planning to overhaul the system next year to the latest equipment but for now we would like to add one more camera to make a true 8 cam system. My questions are to understand limitations with our current setup.
1) Can we use the system effectively to capture with 7 cameras, setup in the 4 tripod (8 cam system)?
2) Is it possible to setup as a 6 cam system (hexagon tripods) and put one camera directly above the actor facing downward?
3) Will the r2 cameras work with arena version 1.4b without upgrading to version 1.7 just yet?
We setup and tested the system today and it ran flawlessly, we're just wanting to restore it to a true 8 cam system but haven't been able to locate one 'r1' camera for sale yet.
2 technical questions on cameras
Re: 2 technical questions on cameras
Hi Mingra
Yes, you can use 7 cameras, in whatever setup you desire, although I'm not sure that putting it directly above the actor will give you any real benefit... you want to have as many markers visible to the camera as possible, and putting it directly above the actor will mean that only a few will be visible at any given time.
Now, in regards to using r2's with 1.4b, that I don't know.. so I'll leave that question for Vince or Seth...

Hello,
* V100R2 cameras with serial 142896 or lower require Arena 1.5+
* V100R2 cameras with serial 142897 or higher should use Arena 1.6.2+
