I bought the unit and got the replacement unit from a finnish reseller called VPD ( http://www.vpd.fi , pages will only work with IE, not even FF or chrome :S and the pages are in finnish only as far as I can tell).

Edit: I will try upgrading to the 5.1 beta 01 software and see if that helps.

Edit 2: Unfortunately no help from upgrading the software. Surely enough for running just the TrackIR5 software for 5-10 minutes, shut it down, wait ~30 sec, start it and I get:

where a moment earlier I saw 3 small dots from my trackclip pro.

Edit 3: Sorry about all these edits.. Saw the dots in the middle of the camera picture that is.

Hi Sekra,

I'm very sorry to tell you that this unit has the same hardware failure as the last one. We will be in communication with VPD this afternoon to inform them about the situation.

I'm afraid that VPD replaced your unit before we were able to identify the specific problem and report it to them. Now we know that the unit they shipped out to replace your first one was part of the same bad manufacturing run.

Our production department is working as quickly as possible to correct this situation on our end, so we can supply our resellers with replacement units. In the interim, please contact VPD to request a new replacement unit.

Again, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and frustration. We're doing our best to get a fully functioning TrackIR in your hands!

It's okay these things happen and it's not your fault. I will contact them for a replacement. Besides good things are worth the wait ;)
