Mocap - Problem with Shoulders

We've tried to do several fully body motion captures, which have looked fine inside of Arena, but after applying the tracking data to character models (using MotionBuilder), there seems to be a problem with the shoulders appearing to be squeezed together. I'm not sure if we're doing something wrong with setting the shoulder width during the skeleton wizard, or if something else is going wrong, but has anyone else encountered a problem like this, and/or is it possible to fix this problem on previously captured tracking data?
