When you re-installed, did you do it normally or did you run the installer as administrator?

Ironically, no
I just ran it normally
In total I probably unloaded and reloaded the software a dozen times, trying different combinations
I did the last install without the Doc or Profile boxes selected, in an attempt to reduce the file size. I wonder if that was what made the difference ???

I do have a question
Does it matter which drive I install the software on ?

Cheers

How is the software failing? Is it giving an error message saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close? does it just not start? Is it not recognizing the device?

I was using it in DCS A10C, closed DCS and TrackIR and when I tried to restart it...the program ran but no lights on the unit.
I did the aformentioned unistall-reinstall and after three tries I got it working again.

I have multiple user accounts running on my computer. I have noticed that if I open one user account and then switch to another user account and then try and open the software it will crash. If I restart and go directly into a user account and run the software in that user account it seems to work.

Check to see if the following directory exists:

(drive):\users\(your user name)\appdata\local\virtualstore\naturalpoint\trackir5

It is possible that the installation was virtualized by UAC and that is causing significant issues with multiple accounts.

There's the issue.

Try uninstalling the TrackIR software, and deleting both the regular program files (x86)\naturalpoint directory as well as the virtualized copy within the virtualstore. Once those are gone, go to control panel - users and disable User Account Controls. Download and save the installer to your desktop, then right click on it and select "Run as administrator". It should then install unvirtualized and the program will be able to save data properly.
