Smartnav 4 autostart on Win 7 not working

Post by Waynebull »

As the title says Smartnav 4 autostart on Start up running Win 7 does not work & for someone without the use of their hands is quite troublesome.

I have tried to load the latest update but it comes up not a valid 32 bit code or something like that.

Any ideas how to fix this.

No one got an answer for me, it's obvious that the software is not fully compatible with Windows 7.

Hello -

I apologize about the delay, I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to reproduce this issue at our offices under various conditions.

Would it be possible for you to post the error message, and some information about your computer (processor type, 32 or 64 bit, is Windows fully updated, basic/home/pro/ultimate, et. cetera)? With the additional information, we may be able to figure out what is going on with your automatic startup.

Also, you may wish to try right clicking on the SmartNav icon, selecting properties, then selecting the compatibility tab. Turn compatibility mode on, and set it to use Windows XP SP3. Also, while you are in there, check the box to run the program as an administrator.

Hi Mike here's the info you requested.

Error message

Smartnav_3.20.037.2.final.exe is not a valid Win32 bit application

OS = win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Processor = Intel P6000 1.87 Ghz
Memory = 3gb
HDD = 500gb

I have tried the recommendations you suggested but they made no effect except I had to redo my settings again with the help of a friend.

I have also tried removing Smartnav software including final exe download & started from scratch but sadly no joy.

Wayne.

Please email support@naturalpoint.com, and I will reply with a copy of our installer that I have tested on windows 7 64 bit installations.
