Hi there,
My main camera that hold licence key cannot be used..
the error is : Power surge on hub port - a usb device has
exceeded the power limits of its hub port..
what should i do?
i've already done this;
1. installed arena on new pc
2. using another usb cable
so my assumption is faulty on usb port on my main camera flex:v100.
Our mocap system bought in 2008.
usb power surge

I've had this happen when putting too many cameras on one hub, (I try to keep it to about 4-5 cameras per usb hub) especially with the r1 cameras. how many cameras do you have on each of your hubs? what type of usb hub are you using (the ones you purchased with the system?)
try connecting the camera directly to the pc, if you still get the issue, then it could be the camera.

Re: usb power surge
Hello Aruncarlos -
Does the camera work if it is just plugged directly into the PC?
Will Arena start or is it saying you're not licensed?
How many cameras do you have plugged into the Hub?
Which type of USB hub are you using? Is it an OptiHub or D-Link from NaturalPoint, or a third-party hub?
If it is a D-Link from NaturalPoint, does it have the D-Link branded power supply or the NaturalPoint branded one?
If the camera is in fact dead, we still have some options available. Please contact support@naturalpoint.com with your serial number and we can discuss them.

Re: usb power surge
bryan - i'm using the purchased usb hubs(D-link) from naturalpoint..the error occurred just last week after almost 2 and 1/2 years being used..i guess it's not the problem with the usb hubs
Mike -
1.the camera doesnt work when directly plugged into pc..pc will notifies power surge error
2. the arena will say i'm not licensed
i've 18 cameras with 3 units of D-link usb hub that came with d-link power supply..so, 6 cameras for each usb hub..the system work fine before, so i guess maybe the camera faulty or dead..

Definately time to send an email to support@naturalpoint.com to discuss options, due to the fact that this is the license camera.
