Re: TECNICALL SUPPORT!!!!!!!!
vicon system dont use any 37 marker as standard im afraid to inform you. but a more usable 68 face marker solution going up till 124, there is nowhere a 37 template as a " standard " and actually we had use the 124 marker setup in many occasions, of course if we go from 15k to 60k the difference its huge, vicon system is high-end product, no one complain about that, but still people as to brake bounderies, the fact to not be able at all to use a specific configuration doesnt mean that cant be tried, we bought a system wihtout having someone to say " you can do this but you cant do that" of course as i said there are limits in what a system can do, this is normal, but at the moment the cons are much more then the pro, we really hope to change our opinion, but at the moment we are loosing money and time running after a system that its not giving what expected..and of course i talk about only our singular experience not a general talk.

Hi Alessia
I guess it depends on what end software you were using with Vicon, my only limited experience with that equipment had been with Face Robot, which uses 37 markers so you are probably right on the higher marker count.
And as you say, it doesn't hurt to try something to see if it works. I'd like to try and see if I can recreate your setup, do you have a guide handy for marker placement I could have? (as to not have to go thru the videos and figure it out)

Re: TECNICALL SUPPORT!!!!!!!!
Hello Alessia -
We've been working with the information we got fro you today during our remote session. From our own experimenting here, the 51 marker setup is quite doable. I sent you some information in email, as well as a link to a .rar archive of our experiments with your marker configuration.
In experimenting with you remotely, we were able to come up with a camera configuration and environment settings to get good data from your markers. The remainder of the issue lies in your marker setup. With a few changes to the template definition, you can easily get a rugged setup that will get you off to the races.
I look forward to hearing how you were able to use it.

Re: TECNICALL SUPPORT!!!!!!!!
There are a few issues that we are working to overcome on the 51 marker setup (47 + 4), however at this time we have some techniques in place (manual setting of templates, et. cetera) that allow us to use the setup functionally, and we are working on identifying ways to help the template solver work with this data more effectively. It's doable, and functional, but we can always improve on it.

Re: TECNICALL SUPPORT!!!!!!!!
NaturalPoint does not have an official software release for, nor does it guarantee hand motion capture with any of it's products
That being said, I'd welcome a hand mocap discussion in this forum, but let's start a new thread for it and keep this one for Alessia's support request.
