Hi,
We are setting up our characters for our film development and are facing a serious problem concerning our optitrack system.
When we export bvh files to max, arena saves 2 spline link files and the biped is changed to 2 spine link when importing the data.
concequently when we save the data in bip then load it in a proper 4 link spine, it does not divide the bending of the spine properly.
Is there a solution for this and if not will it be solved in the near future.
In comparison, the Xsens system that we have available to saves a multi spline data which gives a much better result important into Max.
It is important for us to decide wether we will be able to use optitrack for our film or not?
Max bvh import spine problem

If you export your bvh and uncheck the "single joint torso" it will give you an additional spine node, however, I've not had much luck bringing this into MAX, since I don't know what the importer is looking for, so anything I've changed it to so far will just bypass that node.. and give you the normal 2
If you have Motionbuilder, you can see the additional spine node, so you might be able to bring it in that way, (via fbx thru mb) but it is still only 3 links, and not 4... but might be worth a try if you have MB available... or..
and I haven't tried this to see if it spreads the animation over the 4 links or not, export fbx from arena to MB, then retarget to a skeleton using the "3ds max biped template"
just some ideas, hope they help!
