Track IR5 and Saitek Backlit Panel problem

Post by Ticker7 »

Hi Guys I just love the Track IR5 and am very happy with it, however I just recently got the New Backlit panel from Saitek and it works fine also but if I try to use them together as tey were intended the whole sytem slows don and is unuseable. If I run either on their own they work fine but together no go, which is strange as the panel is only lights triggered by events in FSX eg: lights on,gear up/down etc..
System specs I can remeber are, Win7 64,8gig ram, 1gig Nvidea GTX460 factory OC.
If anyone has any ideas I'm happy to hear from them.

Does the slowing occur only when the simulation is run or does it happen without the simulation?

Just wanted to add my name to the list as I am experiencing the exact same issue. I just purchased the Saitek BIP panel a few days ago and have the same type conflicts when running it with TrackIR. When running one or the other they independantly work great. Only when I try to use together the game slows to a crawl (long-lasting type freeze-ups. - less than 1FR per second).

It only happens in-game for me. Windows still works fine. My system

Win7 64
Intel 2600k, Asus Sabertooth MB
Nvidia 580 video card
8GB ram
SSD running FSX with Acceleration
Track IR v5 software with version 4 hardware (using the clip)
Running about 7 different Saitek modules - other panels do not seem to have any issues.

FYI - this has also been reported on the Saitek forums.

thx

Hi Guys sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. The slowdown has gone in game but sometimes the Track IR freezes and so does FSX and then after a few seconds or more it restarts again then works fine for a while then freezes etc etc....
Now I have updated ALL my device drivers and video card drivers, turned anything not needed off but it still happens.
Come on tech Guys lets see if we can fix this as I know it has to be something simple I / we have overlooked maybe if you contacted Saitek to find out if there is a bit of code that conflicts as coming from a manufacturer they are more likely to respond than to a user.
Thanks
Ticker7.

Ticker7 or Clutch Cargo -

Please contact me at support@naturalpoint.com, and reference this forum thread. I have a quick patch I would like to try to see if it takes care of this issue, or atleast identifies the cause of the problem.

Hi Mike just reporting back re the test prog I received, sad to say it made things worse as when I turned my head to the right and back again to the front the view stayed to the right for a while and then jumped back to centre and was lagging behind quite badly with normal head movements. However after restarting the unit with the normal icon last night it seemed to behave okay for some reason I think it is a random glitch between the the two units but as I'm not a programer I'm not able to dig into it to find out what it is but I will keep you informed as to how things go.
Thank You for your help and if you do happen to find a way to fix it I'll be very happy to hear from you.
Thanks Mate.

Not a problem. The file I sent was one that offloads the video to the processor from the GPU. It works in certain rendering related instances. The fact that it caused worse performance here tells me a bit, too. I'll be passing this information on to our developers.

I have another thread basically with the same problem.

http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... #Post49299

There is a work around there that worked for me.

I'd be interested to see if that workaround worked for you as well, I'm going to Saitek with this to try and work out a solution.
