Tracking only part of the body

Post by TedYeung »

I current doing some research involving tracking only part of the body such as the foot, I was wonder if there is any way to get the data after a capture session.

I have defined a rigid body but the trajectorized data have large gaps even though all markers can be seen in arena.

Turns out to be a bug in the script used for reading the c3d data.
My Bad.

Some follow up questions ...

Why do I have to define a rigid body before arena allows me to trajectorise the data?

Since I am only looking at a part the body and using a customise marker positions, is there any way I can get the raw xyz data of each marker without defining a rigid body?

This type of tracking is better suited for Tracking Tools software.

Before the data is trajectorized, it is merely points. When you play the data back, it solves the location of rigid bodies or skeletons every time. Trajectorizing the data permanently fixes those solved points to the object. Defining a rigid body is required before you can trajectorize, because without a defined rigid body there would be nothing for the software to solve, and thus nothing for the points to associate to.
