TIR5 camera problems.

Post by Mogster »

I've been having some problems with my TIR camera for the last few days.

Running the latest software the camera locks up after a few seconds tracking, the view of the track sensors also stops moving as does my in game movement. The camera view in the software then changes to static, sort of red lines. I've tried using older V5 software versions, same thing happens.

I am seeing a new program running "TIR mouse emulation" I hadn't noticed this before, should this be running along with the TIR software?

I do have one of the older cameras lot:######. Is it likely to be faulty after working OK for a few years?

This is using Win7 64 btw.

This what my camera settings page looks like with the camera view. If I move the light filter bar to the left, greater, then I do get some sort of tracking. The number of objects fall and I can see my head, the camera seems to be way too sensitive for some reason.

I haven't changed any settings in this window. I've not even opened it till now.

From the picture posted, it appears that the camera has suffered some sort of fault, however the cause would be difficult to determine. Normally things like this happen as a result of physical shock or other incident that can damage the board.

If increasing the light filtering works, however, you may want to try moving the camera to a different location and running it there, just to ensure that the camera is not picking up large amounts of IR interference.

Its just been sat on top of my monitor, same as always.

That shot was taken in a pretty much darkened room so I can't see that light interference is the problem. Moving the camera makes no difference.

Appears its had it then..... oh well.

I'll update this thread for completeness and to help others searching for info on a similar problem.

I've replaced the camera and the new one is working fine. That picture was caused by a failed camera.
