"Device Not Detected"...

I've been having trouble launching TrackIR. When I do, I get a small white opening screen. If I select "VIEW" at the the top and check "Tracking" I get another small screen that shows the three green dots and they will move as I move my head. But I couldn't get the main UI with SETTINGS at the left and the 3D HEADS on the right. After many tries, I uninstalled TrackIR and did a fresh re-install using the latest Version 5. Now the main UI comes up. No problem. Except that nothing happens after that. At the top of the SETTINGS Column it says "No Device Detected". How do I break this impasse? Thanks.

Well, whatever the problem might have been, it solved itself. Last night I was watching a movie, and the blue light on the camera blinked. I waited until it blinked two or three more times. Then paused the movie and launched TrackIR. Now it 'Detects the Device" just fine and all is well. I've haven't a clue as to what was going on before, but I have no complaint now.

Hmm, I'd keep an eye on it, it may be a flaky connection or something in the computer, then again it may be a crimped wire or something similar that's causing the loss of communication. If the problem comes back we can try to look at it in closer detail.
