Problems with "pause" function and FSX.

Post by whiggy »

Hello!
I have a big problem with the pause key in FSX. The problem is not reproducable it occurs sometimes but every flight few times.

I press the pause-hotkey to pause my TrackIR view and than when I unpause, TrackIR stops working.(One of the 2 yello Leds on the TrackIR-Cam goes off) When I look into TrackIR 5.1.300 Software, The Test-Display is frozen. Only solution is end the task :(

This make no fun. TrackIR is not usable in FSX for me.
I play also DCS Warthog, here are no problems!

Is there a solution available?

Using TrackIR 5 with 5.1.300 Software on Windows 7 64-Bit.

1.) I Strat TrackIR & FSX in Administrator Mode.
2.) I don't use Triplebuffering.
3.) I tried various displaydriver-versions.
4.) I tried various Hotkeys.

How long does TrackIR have to stay paused for this to happen? Is it a long period of time or just short bursts?

Not a long period, I think 3-4 seconds.

Okay, so we can be reasonably sure that it's not the usb port powering down (which may be the case in extended pauses).

Do you use any other peripherals with FSX? Have you noticed any issues with them if you do? It may be prudent to do a repair installation of simconnect to rule that out as a possible source of error.

No USB Problem!

So, I found a workaround to solve the problem:

If the problem occurs and after unpause trackir is no longer working, then I must only put the head with my trackclip-pro outside of the trackir scan-range and than back. So I get back the trackir functionality.

In addition: The problem occurs only with the PMDG NGX aircraft.

Before taking your head out of range, if you alt-tab to the trackir software (which will be in your system tray at this point) is it still looking around or is it frozen there as well?

When I press ALT, and I go back to TrackIR Software, than, the Display of TrackIR Software is frozen and one yello LED of the camera is off. To solve the problem, I must move complete out the TrackClipPro of the visual-range of the camera and than back in.

Hmm, Ive never heard of this, I'll see if we can try to reproduce it here and see what we can come up with.
