MS FFB 2 HAT not registering button assignments?
I'm utilizing a Microsoft Force-Feedback 2 joystick through Windows 7 Pro 64x and just installed TrackIR-5. For whatever reason, TrackIR doesn't seem to be allowing me to assign functions to the HAT-Switch & I really don't want to put them anywhere else. Can anybody shed some light on what's up/how to do so? As always, thanks in advance!

Can you assign to other buttons on the joystick?

Yeah, all other buttons work fine.. Sadly, I'm guessing you can't assign to the HAT without joystick software installed? (there are no official drivers for the MS ForceFeedback 2 on Win7)

Likely not. It depends on what signal the hat button presses send to Windows, and with default joystick drivers those are limited. It's likely the hat is not supported without the software.

Doesn't make much sense to me, considering that when you go test the various buttons in devices, Windows registers HAT inputs. What would be nice is if the Naturalpoint software would "fill in the blank" so to speak, since many people would rather not bother with stick software anyways/only do so for small idiosyncrasies like this. (but will have no choice but to run TrackIR software)
