External synchronisation

Post by Lewis85 »

Hi - Super simple question here: we have V00R2 system that we wish to sync with an external source that provides a high-gated voltage input (~7V). We have in the Sync palette/window designated custom sync with Sync mode (wired-sync), Source (Sync In), and Input Trigger (High gated). How do I get the input device sending the voltage signal to trigger Optitrack recording?
We do see the blue-sync LED light up to indicate that the OptiHub is indeed receiving the voltage signal.
Probably something we're missing, but having trouble finding documentation on this...

Thanks! :D

Is the signal a wave or flat voltage?

A TTL signal or to answer your question a flat voltage

From what I understand, when set to high gated, the cameras will expose during the TTL signal duration. Rising edge will expose the camera every time the signal switches from low to high, so that's likely what you'd want to use, just send a square wave at the frequency you want the cameras to expose (8-100hz) during the time you want the recording to occur.
