TrackIR 5.1.3 Crashes on opening with Catalyst 12.6

Ok, I saw the posts about the 'triple buffering' deal and confirmed that was off (all 3D settings to default). Works perfectly with 12.4, also tried 12.7 beta--crashes. App crashes immediately if the TrackIR is plugged in; crashes when the TrackIR is plugged in if the app is already running. I tried uninstalling (with the trackIR unplugged) and re-installing with the same results. Any Ideas?

Doesn't sound like a video issue. Try uninstalling, then re-downloading the file (using "save" instead of "run" from your browser), then navigating to it and running the installer by right clicking and selecting "Run as administrator". This should eliminate the possibility of permissions/virtualization issues.

Nope--no luck. When I open the app (without the TrackIR plugged in) the window portion that's supposed to show a 3d representation of your virtual facing is blank white. With the 12.4 drivers it's what it should be.

I have a dual monitor setup in which the primary runs with the HD7850 and the secondary runs on the intel hd 3000 integrated graphics. The trackIR app is always displayed on the HD 7850 side but I'm going to try uninstalling the intel drivers and running both monitors on the HD7850 just in case there's some kind on conflict there.

Ahh, okay this is making more sense now. When multiple video cards are involved it gets a bit trickier. Latest AMD drivers with no triple buffering and keeping TrackIR on that monitor are the best bets.

Yup, that's what it was...uninstalled the intel graphics drivers and have both monitors connected to the HD 7850--no problems now. Thanks for the input Mike!

I'm having the same problems on 12.6. The trackir (both 4 and 5) program crashes the whole computer on proram startup with an 8E BSOD. This happens with or without my trackir 4 connected.

Win 7, Single monitor setup, no triple buffering.

I don't know what to do. It's driving me mad. Help!

DivineSense, try going into the Catalyst Control Center and disabling triple buffering.

The triple buffering is off, as I said. Downloading 12.4 now and i hope that will work. Strange error!

Tried both TrackIR 4 and 5 final software. Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Both Crashed

Uninstalled Catalyst drivers, rebooted.
Win7 standard Radeon drivers - Trackir Crashed

Installed catalyst 12.4 Triple buffering checked off
- TrackIR Crashed

Tried changing TrackIR USB port - TrackIR Crashed
It worked a couple of days ago...

I had another idea. Running in safe mode. Guess what? Crashed...
