Rubber band effect?!

Post by belzzz »

So I've noticed that unless you turn off all smoothing and stuff (making it impossible to use since everything starts to shake) you get a annoying rubber band effect where it drifts back a bit whenever you turn in some direction...
Anyway to fix this?

Do you have precision mode toggled on, by accident? What are the smoothing/speed settings that you usually run with? What profile are you using?

The effect you describe sounds like what can happen if the smoothing is set really, really high. Basically, the smoothing delays the data by N frames in order to apply the filter to it. At very high levels, this can cause a delay that might feel like what you're describing.

nope its on standard, the speed 2 smoothing 7... setting the speed to 1 halves the effect... but on 2 when I turn my head to 90degrees in the program it then drifts back to maybe 83degrees (though my head is completely still).
I've tried lowering the smoothing to 0 but then its starts to shake so its difficult to determine if the effect is still there but I think it might be.
The profile doesn't effect the effect, tried both one:one and smooth...
whether I use trackclip or tcpro doesn't matter either.

Do you get this just in game or also in the HUD of the TrackIR program?
