track single marker?

I have a very simple question. I just purchased an Optitrack system. How do I track a single marker? I can't find a way to do this - all seems to be about rigid bodies. Urgent help needed - thanks to any responders!

Do you have Arena or Tracking Tools? Are you trying to stream your data in real-time or record to a file?

You should be able to record the single marker in Tracking Tools, saving the recording as a timeline and then exporting as a CSV file. That CSV file should contain the marker's X, Y, and Z data. It will be unlabeled, because the labeling occurs within the rigid body solver, but with only one marker, this shouldn't be a problem.

That is brilliant - thank you. In fact, there will be two markers- I guess that will be two unlabelled tracks? Can I edit them before saving to make sure there are no swaps, etc? In that case it doesn't matter if they are unlabelled.

Tracking Tools doesn't provide editing or manual labeling, though both features will arrive in the coming months. It should make an attempt to automatically label, but with two markers it's going to likely be pretty dicey if they're in close proximity or moving very quickly. You can manually label in Arena, but Arena doesn't enable CSV export--only C3D for marker data.
